In the early history of the Iconoclastic crisis, the Council of Hiera promulgated a decree on the criminal act of painting religious images that set off a wave of tortures and killings. In 761, over 300 monks were mutilated in various ways, the monasteries turned into barracks, and the use of the words “saint” and “monk” was prohibited.

In modern history, the Amhara people of Ethiopia who held the Coptic Christian faith and believed in the original Christian message of the body absorbed by divinity (rather than the hypostatic union or the union without confusion of divinity and humanity), became the target of terrorist hunts durng the Second World War by the U.S. and its allies.

According to what I was taught in “Christian Living”, Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead, in body and soul. It was shown that Christology was the undivded One - the divine mind and divine body were one. But nobody in “Christian Living” told me that, not even about the modern implications of the Great Schism.
