Call for Entries END FRAME VIDEO ART PROJECT

The End Frame Video Art Project calls for entries to the Philippines’ first video art festival. Presented by Visual Pond and Power Plant Mall in partnership with The One Minutes, the Cubicle Art Gallery and the Listening Group of Companies (Listening in Style, D-Cinema in Style and Digital Cinema in Style) and with support from the Ateneo Art Gallery, the End Frame Video Art Project aims to call attention to and create discussion on video art done by local artists and experimental filmmakers.

The End Frame Video Art Project will run at Power Plant Mall from 6 – 10 September and at The Cubicle Art Gallery from 12 – 16 September 2006. Adding an international dimension to the project is the collaboration with The One Minutes, an organization based in the Netherlands that collects one minute video artworks all over the world. As the Philippine partner, Visual Pond is collecting Philippine one minutes through End Frame to enter in The One Minutes Awards in November 2006. All one minutes entered in End Frame will also be eligible for a screening of Philippine one minutes on Salto TV, a Dutch television channel and for the Olympic One Minutes exhibit to take place in Beijing in 2008 right before the Summer Olympics.

Those wishing to enter the festival must be a Filipino citizen and of age 18 years old or above by 11 August 2006. An artist may opt to submit a one minute work or a work of any length as long as it fits in one CD or one DVD in data format. All entries (whether a one minute submission or not) must have 15 seconds black before the video starts and use only one CD/DVD per entry.

Submission forms along with more detailed information are available at the End Frame website at http://endframe.visualpond.org. Mail or drop off entries, submission forms and resumes in sealed short envelopes at The Cubicle Art Gallery, 40A C. Raymundo cor. Stella Maris Maybunga, Pasig City, Manila, Philippines. Deadline for entries is on 11 August 2006.
