Bagyong Milenyo

Posted by: Fats in: What and Why

What a disaster, typhoon Milenyo will be hitting Manila directly this afternoon, the next one to do so after 11 years. A direct hit could mean there could be calm and even sunshine right in the eye of the typhoon but while the typhoon is on its way, winds are 100-185kmph.

Too bad, I’ve been meaning to meet someone from UIAH in Helsinki who’s in Manila for a mobile education project. But it iwll be impossible with the winds, and some roads have been closed already. Today is also supposed to be the day BUKAS holds a session for the PhilOSC, but making any decisions within BUKAS has been painstakingly slow.

All blessings in disguise, I guess. :)

But the damage to life and property that the typhoon is bringing is worrying. I love the rain but this is too much!
