Love language
Posted by: Fats in: Fats, Vitamins & Minerals > Wika at HirapI saw Bo Sanchez talk about love language a few months ago. It was beautiful. He and his friend talked openly about what love languages they shared with their wives. They all had different love languages but what made speaking the languages most beautiful was the willignness to recognize and speak the other person’s love language.
Oh, I was almost embarassed to hear them talk about such intimate love languages but there was just no stopping them. According to Bo, love language asks “how do you want to be loved? What is your love language and what is your partner’s love language?” He pointed out five possible aspects of love language.
1. Words of affirmation – praise and admiration from the beloved and only from the beloved; to talk about each other
2. Focus time together – away from the house, chores and the kids, just some intimate time together; just spending time with each other
3. Receiving gifts – small gifts or tokens of love, small material things and objects that makes the beloved happy
4. Acts of service – doing simple pleasurable things for the beloved
5. Physical touch – lingering kiss or embrace that the beloved most desires
I have just finished making spaghetti for Alwin. He is still in school and I am waiting for him to come home, any minute now. I made the spaghetti also for my mom, because I know that she is tired and would really appreciate someone else making lunch today. I also made the spaghetti for Nery, because I have not cooked with her for quite some time now and I saw how she enjoyed it whenever I was in the kitchen teasing her.
I hope that Alwin will like the spaghetti - it is sweet, I made it sweet because I know he likes the sweet sauce and not the sour sauce. Actually, earlier, I took Alwin’s activity book and I made a drawing of Edward in it. I put instructions on top: What are the different parts of Edward? Identify as many parts of Edward as you can.”
I’m sure Alwin will be surprised when he sees that in his activity book!
Earlier this morning before going to school he asked me and Edward to sit with him. Of course, he didn’t mind me but just took Edward and cuddled him!
