Lacey Stole
Posted by: Edward in: Projects (Sampling)My caregiver seems to have finished the hairpin lace stole she has been crocheting several days now. Not bad. It has three bands of hairpin lace and the rest are crocheted the regular way.
Here is a photo of me wearing the stole - which I sometimes call a berthe - in bed.

Some people might find the pattern ‘instructions’ confusing because they are not really ‘instructions.’ What I have done is write down descriptions of the parts that make up the pattern (i.e. the scallop, picot edge and picot stupa).
I decided to do this because it is, for me, more ‘intuitive’ and, hopefully, renders the pattern more conceptually graspable to those interested. The patterns therefore become ‘modular’, subject to improvisation.

Erica will try to follow the instructions once we have the materials needed.
