Fortun's Urban Gardening Fortuns Twig

This is a close up of a “cutting” planted a few weeks ago. Apparently, the humans were out walking in the grounds of the local “Veteran’s Hospital” (where ex-president Estrada once stayed after falling ill while awaiting trial for corruption) -and they saw this huge big tree with beautiful white flowers with yellow centers. There were some women gardening nearby -and so my humans asked about how the tree could be propagated and were given a large branch to make cuttings from. My favourite human gave some to her mum -and tried planting the remaining two bits in a new pot (filled with two types of soiless potting medium with fertiliser) on the floor of the drying room.

The twigs don’t seem to be doing much -but don’t seem to have died iether. Perhaps it will be easier to monitor any changes via photographs. In the same pot, you might just see some small orange and lime trees that were planted as seeds at the same time (February 10). A few other things (local guava, tamarind and some other unidentified things) were also planted together with the citrus seeds (saved from fruit we had eaten) -but until now only the citrus fruits have sprouted -with the first shoots bursting through the soil nearly one month after planting.
