Yellow is the color of…
Posted by: Fats in: Edward fans club > NeedleworksI’m nearly finished with the yellow work bag!
My partner and I looked for yellow yarn for the cord and slip balls this afternoon but we couldn’t find any “real” yellow.
The one we found was a lot more like processed cheddar cheese yellow.
Although I can say thatthe bag itself is Batangas corn yellow and the cord and slip balls are in Japanese sweet corn yellow.
Anyway, here’s a photo of Edward with the new bag.

This is a bit of an exercise with Irish crochet. The flower motif in the center is done in Irish crochet. It’s bloody difficult, but really interesting. Irish crochet is more ‘three-dimensional’ and actually more spontaneous. Perhaps one could say it is much closer to sculpture, whereas normal crochet is closer to weaving.
I’ve also gotten better with hand-sewing the lining.
While using the cheddar cheese yarn I started sneezing. I suspect that I am allergic to the bright yellow coloring that they use. Too bad. I wasn’t allergic to their other bright color yarns (I am using this cheap MEGA craft yarn for the cord and slip balls).
I also learned a few weeks ago that the company that makes the crochet thread I am using for the bag and the purple bag just finished has a website. It’s MONACO. They have an office/plant in Cebu too. Which is great if I do finally settle in Mindanao with my partner, at least there’s a producer of good local threads near the region.
As usual, when finished, this bag will be archived in Edward’s website with the pattern instructions. Lots of mistakes in this bag, actually, but it’s not very obvious.
