Having your cake and eating it

My mother often used to say “There’s no need to have kittens every time you get poked in the eye”. I never really understood what she meant exactly.

However, I do remember she was always having kittens -the house was full of them. They told me that was why I got taken to the vet at an early age…. although they also never told me why.

I guess I was reminded of all this when I saw a bit of onion yesterday: One of the humans discovered while cooking that one of the onions was sprouting and so cut of the top and stuck it in some water. After a few hours it looked as if it had already started to grow. This morning they are going to plant it in one of the pots. Actually, there is already quite a lage onion plant growing from half an onion planted some time ago. I hear that potatoes can grow from just a small piece too.

Onion

So why are there still so many hungry cats in the world -if things grow so easily?

If we really can eat our onion and grow it too -why can’t we do that with cake….. Or better still -with mice and fish!

Ehem. That wasn’t the vet. They was girls from Catbalogan, Samar who used elastics.

Hey! How come you got a blog and I don’t???
