About Goat4Sale
“Goat4Sale” is my Filipino language blog, an important part of my exploration and understanding of bilingualism.
The title “Goat4Sale” simply derives from signs along the road here in Manila that I have become accustomed to seeing when I was a child. Somehow, “goat4sale” represents to me a kind of bilingualism - that is, a productive use of a foreign language (English) by a native Filipino speaker.
Through “Goat4Sale” I hope to explore the various factors that define bilingualism - at least so that I may be able to draw distinctions between the demands of expression (whether verbal or written), translation and cognition.
